Beyond the classroom
At Seabridge, we believe that education extends beyond academic subjects. Sport, technology, outdoor adventure and community activities all provide opportunities for young people to discover new interests, develop confidence and learn practical skills.
As a small school, we take a flexible approach, combining activities organised by Seabridge with opportunities available within our local community.

Robotics
Building, coding and problem-solving
Students meet weekly for practical robotics sessions where they design, build and programme robotic systems using Arduino Uno microcontrollers and Python.
Working with motors, sensors, servos and electronic components, students learn how programming and electronics can be combined to solve practical problems.
The emphasis is on learning through experimentation. Students develop their ideas, build prototypes, test their programs, identify problems and improve their designs.
Robotics encourages creativity, logical thinking, perseverance and problem-solving, while giving students hands-on experience with real technology.
A flexible approach to sport
Being a small school means that sport at Seabridge looks different from that of a large traditional school. Rather than limiting sport to the facilities available on a school campus, we make use of suitable facilities and opportunities within our local community. Our size allows us to take a flexible approach to physical activity and to expose learners to a variety of sporting and recreational experiences.
We aim to expose learners to a variety of activities while encouraging them to discover sporting and recreational interests that they can enjoy both during and beyond their school years.

Our learners have a wide range of sporting interests beyond the activities organised by the school.
Some participate independently in activities such as football, cycling, horse riding and hiking, arranged privately by their families.
Seabridge encourages learners to pursue these interests and recognises the commitment, achievement and personal development that participation outside school can provide.
Annual Outward Bound Adventure
Challenge. Leadership. Independence.
Once a year, our older students take part in an adventure programme with Outward Bound South Africa in Sedgefield.
The experience takes students beyond the familiar school environment and challenges them through outdoor activities designed to develop resilience, teamwork, leadership, problem-solving and self-confidence.
Depending on the programme, Outward Bound activities can include hiking, canoeing, high ropes, navigation, raft building, abseiling and other outdoor challenges.
The emphasis is not simply on outdoor recreation. Students are encouraged to work together, take responsibility, overcome challenges and discover what they are capable of achieving.
This annual experience forms an important part of our commitment to developing confident, independent and resilient young people.
Scouting
A number of Seabridge learners participate in a strong, independently organised local Scout group.
Scouting provides opportunities for outdoor experience, teamwork, practical skills, leadership, responsibility and community involvement.
Although Scouting operates independently of Seabridge, we value the contribution it makes to the broader development of our learners.
More than academics
At Seabridge, a well-rounded education is not defined by the size of a sports field or the number of school teams.
We aim to provide young people with opportunities to participate, explore, create, take on challenges and discover their individual strengths.
Through sport, robotics, outdoor adventure and community activities, learners are encouraged to develop the confidence, independence, resilience and curiosity that will serve them well beyond school.
